Ruination Day

As you may or may not know, April 14th is the day that the Titanic sank as well as the day that Lincoln was shot. It may now also be the day I rented my apartment and sold my Ducati. I had an 'open house' which made me realize how much of a deal I'm getting on this apartment. Within 2 minutes of walking thru the door people were asking how they can get it. I keep thinking I should keep the lease and sublet it for more than I'm paying. Somehow it doesn't seem worth the hassle. Then I had my first showing of the Ducati. I haven't really ridden it since my accident so I took it for a quick spin to warm it up. It was enough to make me hate selling it. And of course the guy immediately wanted to buy it. I'm glad I was able to get my asking price but I was hoping it would take a week or so. I got in one last ride up through Marin and now she's gone. I've never been so depressed to get handed $7000.

State Of Flux

It's been awhile since I've checked in here. Since then I finished the Albert tour, which included a handful of shows supporting Bloc Party, flew home to SF, secured an apartment in NYC and started the process of a cross country move condensed into 2 weeks. I'm a little nervous that I won't be able to rent my apartment, sell everything that needs selling and pack what needs packing. All the while my neck/shoulder is still giving me enough trouble to be worrying. I still need to sort out the legal end of that whole mess. Not to mention the bills associated and of course, sorting thru 8 million little crumpled up receipts for tax time. All in all things are a bit insane right now, but I feel good about making the move and look forward to a good purging. I have way too much shit. And on that note....
